An Amazing Journey

What's been going on with Zoom......
So Bryce gave Wyatt a nickname: Zoom. It's because Wyatt does everything in a hurry. He drinks and eats quickly and he is quick to take whatever in his mouth and he's just growing so quickly. He likes it when Bryce calls him Zoom but he knows his name is Wyatt. I still have not thought of a sign name for him. But I feel like it is a big decision because whatever sign name I give him will stick with him. I am fond of calling him "Wee wee Wyatt" because he pees so much! But of course his sign name will not be similar to that. Wyatt has taken to sleeping on his stomach and being on his stomach during the day. I remember when he was younger and he used to hate being on his stomach. He would do tummy time for only 5 minutes then cry to be let off his tummy. Now he just loves being on his tummy. He sleeps on his tummy every night now. So whenenver I put him down for his nap, I just put him on his tummy because I know that's how he will end up sleeping. He is doing very good with eating. So we think he will be an eater which means we won't have to worry about him starving! He probably will eat us out of the house when he's a teen but that's fine! Haha. He hasn't had any problems eating whatever we give him which is great. It's just been amazing watching him grow up. I was giving him a bath last night and he was moving around a lot and whatnot so I think it's time for the big tub for him. I just have to say I'm still sooo happy with having Wyatt around and it's still going pretty good so far. I'm looking forward to the summer because it'll be nice to take him out plus I can take him to the pool!
Getting bigger and smarter.....
I know I should really make it more of a habit to write on here more but it is hard sometimes with school, my family, an apartment to take care of, and other things that goes on. I really wanted to write tonight though because Wyatt has done some amazing things just this week so I wanted to write it down. I know I said Wyatt was "ALMOST crawling" in an earlier post but now I know that wasn't the case. On Wednesday we all (Bryce, Wyatt, and I) were at my mom's to feed Toby (the family dog) since my mom was out of town and watch Wyatt while the other one was in class. Bryce said Wyatt got on his fours like he was going to crawl and he tried to get me to see it but I was in the middle of fixing a bottle so I missed it! On Thursday morning I was putting Oraljel on Wyatt's gums and lo and behold, I felt a tooth!!! I was so surprised because I had put some Oraljel on him the night before and there wasn't anything there. So I guess he just sprouted a tooth overnight! I was so excited! Wyatt had been fussing and I know it was because he was teething so I was wondering when he would finally cut a tooth. It is a little more out now. Earlier tonight, Bryce and I were having dinner and in the middle of that, Wyatt started really fussing. I felt bad but I figured he'd be okay for a few minutes until either one of us finished eating. Then Bryce said he started saying "mamamama" So of course I got up and picked him up from his pack and play pen. He instantly stopped fussing. I wasn't sure Wyatt actually knew what that meant or if he was just making sounds. Bryce has been trying to teach him to say "mama" and "daddy" or "dada" while he points at me or him. So I figured it was just random. A few minutes later, I gave Wyatt to Bryce so I could go make him a bottle. Wyatt was fussing again. So while Bryce had him, Wyatt started saying "mamamama" again and Wyatt was looking right at me while I was in the kitchen and he was really fussing. So I came to him and after I got him, he was just fine again. So this is very exciting for me! He knows me as mama and he wants his mama sometimes. Wyatt just adores his dad and Bryce is awesome with him so Wyatt is always smiling and happy for Bryce but not as much for me. So I admit I get a little jealous but tonight confirmed how Wyatt feels towards me. I've been trying to teach him the "I love you" sign and he does it sometimes but it's very fleeting. I think he knows it's a good sign because most of the time when he sees it, he smiles and grabs at my hand. When football was in season, my mom was showing him how to do the "touchdown" sign! I am pretty sure by the time football starts again (if they can get their b.s. together!) this year Wyatt will have that sign down no problem! Ok, this post is just about this week....I am going to make a new post and talk about what has been going on since I last wrote....

Update
Yikes, it has been a while since I last blogged! I was planning on this being an everyday thing but I guess not....ha. I can't believe Wyatt will be 6 months old in a week! Times does fly by fast it seems like it goes by even faster when you have a kid. I get all sad when Wyatt outgrows his clothes. But at the same time, it really is amazing watching him grow and learn new things. Like today, Bryce was playing peekaboo which Wyatt really likes then Wyatt had a blanket over his face and every time Bryce said "where's baby?" Wyatt pulled down the blanket from his face. Wyatt can sit up now! He's not sitting up straight yet but he can sit for a while and just play or whatnot. He ALMOST crawled today! I am so excited about that. I do need to start babyproofing the apartment very soon! When I think about it, the apartment really can be a dangerous place for a baby that is moving around. I am excited to see what he will be like in 6 more months when he's one year old! Hell, there are a lot of things I am excited about and looking forward to but also, I just want time to stand still and Wyatt stop growing. People told me to just cherish and enjoy the time I have with Wyatt while he's a baby because he would grow up so fast and now I see what they meant by that. Recently Bryce and I got pretty sick with nasty colds but it didn't seem to affect Wyatt at all or if it did, he didn't seem bothered by it. But I think it has hit him now but not too bad. It's a very mild cold for him if that's the case. He's still a very happy baby. He hasn't cut tooth yet but I think it's going to start if it already isnt now. He woke up earlier not happy tonight after I put him to bed which never happens. So I fed him and put some orajel on him for the first time. Since I'm a first time mom, I'm still figuring out a lot of things as I go. Thank goodness for my mom, my mommy friends, and the internet! It's been about a month since I started school again and it has been a little daunting handling the apartment, the baby, and school. I really have no idea how my parents did it with 4 kids! But so far I'm doing alright with that although some days are stressful! Bryce has his hands full with work and school but I think what we're doing right now is for the best and it works for us. The nice thing is Wyatt is such an easygoing baby so he makes it easy for us. So we lucked out with that. Ok, I am going to attempt to put some pictues on here. I am still getting used to this whole blog site.....here goes.....
Those are recent pictures I have taken of Wyatt. I have taken hundreds and hundreds of pictures of Wyatt so far. I kind of feel bad for the kid because the flash is always going off! Haha. But yeah, technology nowadays is amazing, I can take probably a thousand pictures on my camera and have them saved and backed up then take them to the store to get prints. I don't have to buy film or even get prints if I didnt want to. I have a very nice printer that prints good pictures and I use that but if I want to print multiple pictures, I just can take it to Walgreens or Walmart and print them all up for cheap. I love that! Ok, I think this is good for now.....I'll try to make it more of a habit to write here more! Until next time.....

Tuesday post
So, Wyatt has been staying with my mom (Grandma) while I'm in class. It's working out so far. I have been trying to give Wyatt rice cereal but sometimes he doesn't want to take it. So i guess it depends on the mood he is in. On Monday he almost ate the whole bowl but he was still hungry after that so I gave him a 4 oz bottle then he went right to sleep after that. I think Wyatt is starting to develop a personality. But then again maybe that's just wishful thinking. But he is a happy baby overall. When you talk to him, he smiles and sometimes talk. He's not quite sitting up on his own but he is getting there. I will need to clean up our apartment soon because he will be crawling and we don't want him getting into anything bad! I am really amazed at how much Wyatt is growing and a lot of times I wish he would stay small and not grow up! But it's still very exciting watching him grow up! :)
Sunday's adventure
So I said I may not be able to do this blog thing everyday. So, on Sunday It was a crazy day for me. Wyatt was good in the morning and all that good stuff like he always is. It wasn't until Bryce left for the gym when things got hairy. I was holding Wyatt and he spit up on me and him. THEN he decided to poop so it's normally no big deal but on this day, it leaked out of his diaper and got all over his leg and on me! So I changed into clean clothes and got him cleaned up and he needed a bath. So I got him in the bath and I was just about to put on a washcloth on his penis so he didn't pee everywhere when he peed but right before I got that washcloth on him, he peed all over me!! I didn't want to leave him in the tub by himself so I didn't bother changing clothes so I washed him up and all that. Right as when I was getting him out of the bath, he peed on me again!!! We have a nickname for him, "Wee Wee Wyatt". He was living up to that name that day for sure! And in the meantime, he was not a happy camper, he was fussing and crying. The funny thing is this usually happens while Bryce is gone. So of course this happened while Bryce was gone. I managed to get Wyatt calmed down and whatnot. I defintely needed a shower that night! I can say so far, I have been peed, pooped, spit up on, and all that good stuff so far with Wyatt. But i would not trade it for anything in the world!

Stuff About Wyatt I Want To Record
So there are some things about Wyatt I want to write down so I have records of them. They are in no particular order, just as I remember them......
-I was burping Wyatt at my mom's and Wyatt was looking up at Bryce and Bryce asked Wyatt, "what are you looking at?" and immediately Wyatt spit up. It was just funny and good timing!
-The first sign Wyatt made was "I love you" on my birthday!!! It was real quick and fleeting but he did it! It was at my mom's and I was leaving and I said I love you and signing it and we saw him do it! It was the best birthday present! Ever since, I've been signing that because I want that to be his first real sign. Sometimes he will do that sign just for a nanosecond but sometimes he won't at all but he moves his fingers like he is about to sign. It's too cool!
-Wyatt is always so good when he goes out in public. He never fusses or anything. He is very aware of his surroundings and he just chills if I take him out. At the beginning, I used to worry about taking him out in public because what if he gets upset or whatnot, but so far it hasn't been a problem!
-The first time I cut his nails, I accidentally cut his skin under the nail also so he got upset and cried! I felt so bad! I had been using his mittens up to that point. So I wanted to take a stab at cutting his nails but I hurt him! :( After that I was afriad to cut his nails so I kept the mittens on him. He wore them for two months! There are a lot of pictures from the first months of his life with mittens on his hands.
-Up to this point, Wyatt has not gotten sick nor have I. I know in the first year of life, babies are prone to getting sick because their immune systems are not very built but I don't know what it is about Wyatt. I will say I am very viligant about washing my hands and I make sure Bryce washes his hands as well. I don't know if it's a good thing or not to make sure everyone and everything is clean because I do want Wyatt to build up his immunity system but at the same time I don't want him to get sick. It's a double edged sword. I do want him to get the chicken pox when he's ready for it. The thing is, Bryce has never gotten it so when/if Wyatt does get it, Bryce can't be around Wyatt. So when that happens, it'll just be me dealing with that. I don't mind but it is kind of scary to think Bryce could get that and possibly die so it's a little nerve wrecking.
-Wyatt is so silly. He likes to suck his thumb while he is eating with the bottle. I have to move his thumb out of his mouth. It is so cute but at the same time, he shouldn't be doing it.
-When Wyatt is pooping while he is eating, his eyes gets so big and they're looking right at me. It's like they are saying 'WHAT'! He also squirms a lot when he pees or poops while he's eating so it's just best to change him right away then he can get back to eating
Those are some things I wanted to record so I don't forget them. There are more but when I do think of them or whatnot, I will put them up on here. I need to learn how to post pictures on here so I will give that a try! Maybe tonight, maybe not. But soon! I think my blog is coming along nicely. Until next time.

Sleepy Sleepy
In the mornings when Bryce or I go to Wyatt's crib to get him, he almost always smiles for us. It really is the greatest thing when you get your baby in the morning and they're happy as they can be! It is the best start to the day for me. We've been VERY lucky with Wyatt and sleeping at night. When he was a newborn, of course he was waking up every couple hours to feed but we also got lucky with that, he would wake up and get a diaper change and bottle then go right back to sleep at night! He never stayed awake once he was statisfied with food. When he first came home, the baby monitor my mom ordered was not here yet. That is a whole other story but anyway, I was not comfortable with Wyatt sleeping in his bedroom away from us since we didn't have a monitor. So we put his mattress on the floor next to me. He slept pretty good on it. After we got a monitor FINALLY we decided to put him in his crib in his bedroom. I was so worried he wouldn't do well at first with that. Pfffttttt!!!! He slept so good in his crib the first night. It was ME that had problems! The first night it took me 45 minutes to finally fall asleep because I knew he wasn't right next to me! He started sleeping throughout the night right before he turned 3 months. Ever since, he sleeps like a rock ALL NIGHT. Depending on when he finishes his last meal, he usually sleeps from 8 pm until 8-10 am! I am LOVING it!!! No getting up in the middle of the night and I get to sleep in a little! This baby sure loves his sleep at night! Again, I've heard horror stories of babies not sleeping all night until they were 6 months and even a year or two! It really boggles my mind how early Wyatt started sleeping all night and how hard he sleeps at night without waking up once. Of course that may change later on but for now I am enjoying it and it makes up for all the sleep I lost the first few months. During the day, Wyatt usually sleeps in his swing like he is right now. He doesn't take long naps during the day but it doesn't seem to bother him. So, now I am going to sign off and do mommy stuff around the apt. Until next time!
